What is a work session?

A work session is a designated period during which users are permitted to perform work tasks. In the app, users initiate and conclude work sessions through Check-ins and Check-outs, respectively.

During a work session, all user activities, such as opening and closing locks and adding lock notes, are recorded. This provides administrators with a comprehensive audit trail of each site visit.

Starting a Worksession (Check-in)

When you arrive at a site and attempt to open a lock that requires a work session, you will see the following message:

To start a work session (Check-In):

  1. Navigate to the Check-in tab.
  2. Locate the organization of the lock that is requesting you to start a work session.

     
  3. Click on Check-In.
  4. The app will show a confirmation message. Click on Check-In

The app will confirm a successful check-in and start a countdown showing the remaining time for the work session.

Ending a Worksession (Check-out)

Upon completing your tasks at the site, you must check out. This notifies the administrator that your work is finished and ensures all locks are securely closed.

To end a work session (Check-Out):

  1. Navigate to the Check-in tab.
  2. Find the organization where you previously checked in.
  3. Click on Check-Out.
  4. The app will show a confirmation message containing the time you spent on site. Click on Check-Out.

Checking-Out With Open Locks

If you attempt to end a work session with open locks, the app will notify you. You must close these locks before checking out.

If you cannot close a lock, you can leave a message for the administrator explaining the situation.

Checkin-Out With Session Expired

As a work session nears its expiration, the app will notify you. If the session expires before you check out, you must provide an explanation to the administrator for the delay.

Important Notes

  • Users cannot start new work sessions until the current one is properly ended.
  • Work sessions are stored in the cloud. If a user signs out and back in, any active or expired work sessions will be reloaded until they are properly checked out.

By following these steps, users can ensure that their work sessions are accurately tracked and managed, providing clear and complete records for administrators.
