What is Teleporte?

Teleporte is a software platform that offers a comprehensive suite of solutions designed to provide keyless access control for industrial applications and critical infrastructure. Within the Teleporte ecosystem, there is a cloud interface for administrators, a mobile application for users, and an embedded platform for integrating locking hardware.

Teleporte Cloud communicates with Teleporte Mobile to download digital keys over wifi and cellular. Teleporte Mobile communicates with Teleporte Embedded (locks) via Bluetooth.

Teleporte Cloud

Teleporte Cloud provides a user-friendly web interface accessible from laptops, tablets, and smartphones. System administrators can access the Teleporte Cloud interface  to manage access control operations, including: key assignment, user registration and report generation.

A Teleporte organization refers to an instance of Teleporte Cloud for a given customer, with a dedicate web-interface for administrators. While most customers only need a single Teleporte interface, some could require two or more Teleporte organizations depending on their needs.

Teleporte Mobile

Teleporte Mobile is a mobile application available on Android and iOS that delivers an intuitive interface for users in the field to download and use digital keys.

Teleporte Embedded

Teleporte Embedded is a software platform that runs in dedicated hardware to turn almost any access point into a keyless access point, managed on the Teleporte ecosystem.

Teleporte Accounts

Teleporte accounts are required to access the web interface to manage access control operations, or the mobile application to download and used digital keys. There are four types Teleporte account:

  • Administrator: Unrestricted access to the Teleporte web interface to manage access control operations.
  • Access Manager: Restricted access to the Teleporte web interface to create users and assign keys. Access managers cannot make configuration changes in the system.
  • Configuration Manager: Restricted access to the Teleporte web interface to make configuration changes such as: lock names, lock grouping, user tagging, etc. Configuration managers cannot create users or assign keys.
  • User: Access to the Teleporte mobile application to download assign keys and open locks.

The following steps outline a typical workflow to create and activate a Teleporte account:

  1. Existing administrators create new Teleporte accounts through the Teleporte web interface. New accounts can be created with a name and a unique email address.
  2. The new user or administrator receives an activation email from Teleporte, with instructions to set a password, which activates the Teleporte account. The activation email also includes instructions to download the Teleporte mobile application for Android and iOS mobile devices.
  3. Once the account is activated, the new user can log into the Teleporte mobile application, or into the Teleporte web interface.

Teleporte Keys

Teleporte keys are digital keys that are assigned by Teleporte administrators, and that are deployed to the mobile application of the authorized user. A Teleporte key grants access to an authorized user, to open a specific access point, during a specific time period.

Teleporte keys:

  • Cannot be shared with other users
  • Can be used in offline mode after they have been downloaded to the mobile application.
