No. The ER18505 lithium battery of AP3 padlocks are replaceable, not rechargeable.
What's the expected AP3 battery life?
AP3 padlocks integrate a high capacity lithium thionyl chloride (ER18505) battery with a median battery life of 5 years from install in an AP3 padlock under controlled conditions. This battery technology has natural variation between units, so some will last longer than others. The lifetime of the battery can be reduced by various factors such as high use frequency and temperatures far from room temperature.
Does the warranty cover battery issues?
Sera4's Standard Hardware Warranty does not cover consumables, like batteries. However, Sera4 maintains a goodwill program which will cover the cost of a replacement battery on an AP3 padlock that goes dead or shows Critical Level in the Teleporte Admin Dashboard within 6 months of its in-service date.
