Lock Deactivation

Easily deactivate and reactive hardware that is not in use through Teleporte.

Hardware/Lock Deactivation is a feature that allows customers to deactivate locks or controllers from their Teleporte web interface due to hardware failure, vandalism, loss, etc.

This feature addresses:

  • Preservation of Data: The deactivated lock won't lose access history, lock logs, or notes tied to it.
  • Clean Interface: Deactivated locks are hidden from the active device list to reduce clutter but remain accessible when needed.

Deactivating a lock does not delete any associated data. All access history, lock logs, and notes remain preserved and accessible whenever required. System logs for deactivated locks are also retained for administrative purposes.

Deactivating a Lock

Teleporte Administrators (or Configuration Managers) can deactivate locks through the web interface. When a lock is deactivated:

  • A system-generated lock note and log entry are created to document the deactivation event.
  • The lock is removed from the active device list but can still be accessed by applying a filter.

It is important to note that keys cannot be assigned to deactivated locks.


Reactivating a Lock

If needed, Administrators (or Configuration Managers) can reactivate a deactivated lock at any time through the Teleporte web interface. The reactivation process restores the lock to active status and makes it available for use again.


Filtering by Deactivated Locks

Deactivated locks are hidden from the active device list by default, helping to maintain a clean and clutter-free interface. However, administrators can still view them by applying the appropriate filter in the web interface.
